What a great time of year!

The excitement of possible snow, the occasional hint of spring; let’s us know it is playoff time for basketball, and registration time for baseball/softball. The anticipation is palpable.

First, we would like to thank all of our kids and families that played with us in our inaugural season of basketball. It has been fun and educational. We are fortunate to be able to host post season play in our facility and bring families to our community, some for the first time. With this opportunity to host post season play, comes a moment for us to let other communities know we are committed to our youth and our community by providing a great experience. In order for us to provide the best experience, we need help from our families/community to come out and support our kids playing and to help be an ambassador to others by volunteering to help during this great time. If you would like to be a part of this, please go to the volunteer tab under basketball and pick a time to help make it a positive experience for everyone.

Secondly, as a reminder baseball/softball registrations are open until February 24. Check out the sign up tab on our website kieferyouthsports.org if you still need to sign up. If you are having difficulty or need a way to sign your child up online, we will provide a space at the elementary gym on Saturday, February 15 from 10 am to 2 pm to assist you.

BB Reminders

Many Blessings All,

Just a few reminders, payments for player registration and all volunteer coach background checks are due immediately. If you have paid, please disregard. If you still need to pay, you may do so via the shop on our website, https://www.kieferyouthsports.org/shop/ or via cash or check to Katherine at her work office located on the southeast corner of the 4-way stop in Kiefer. She is there Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.

Secondly, if your team is purchasing the team shorts, please contact your coach for details.

Finally, thank you all for your time, commitment, and understanding as we move forward with this basketball season as it is our first and there will be some inconveniences as we adapt and learn as we go. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us regarding any concerns. We will do our best to assist you in any way we can.

Midseason update

Phew!! What a great season so far. We are halfway through, and things are going well thanks to everyone who is pitching in and volunteering. Without volunteers, we would not be able to have this amazing opportunity for the kids to play in our community and develop that sense of pride that comes with it. So… THANK YOU!  If you haven’t taken the opportunity to volunteer, there are still slots available for May. Just go to https://www.kieferyouthsports.org click volunteer opportunities and sign up.

Coaches will be reaching out, if they have not already, about team pictures. Please be patient as we work through all the teams. Also, we will be announcing a date for our end of the season activity very soon, so be sure to stay connected.

We would like to give a Kiefer Youth Sports shout out to all of those that have gotten donations and bought or sold advertising this season. This funding along with gate and concession proceeds are what supports the league, as we are not financially supported by the school or town.  This funding has allowed us to continue with improvements to the facility. We will be continuing to make improvements throughout the season and during off-season, if you are interested in helping, please reach out to us. Items that we need are, 50’ to 100’ poles for lighting. If you know of any, or have personal contacts that do, that is great also. We cannot afford to purchase these at market cost or new at this time. We have applied for several grants, but it can be a grueling process, so we are looking for other avenues.

Keep up the good work and enjoy the rest of the season!

PLAY BALL!!!
